This week’s theme is a book cover that is mostly blue: “It is early, early morning. It’s that time when it’s still dark but you know the day is coming. Blue is bleeding through black. Stars are dying.” The book for this week’s theme is Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book.
And the winner is… COVER E!
This particular book seems to have a wealth of cover designs that I really like. Cover E though really stood out to me. The art style and its use of shadow are striking. The blue above, and the pale yellow below are intriguing. The design of the land, and its floating appearance alludes to a second world, a world below. Something the dual colour palette serves to back up.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme is a cover that depicts the seaside: “Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!”
