The biggest secret of all time

I purchased a copy of this book for my own reading.

Following the rollercoaster ride that is Myra, the first book in the Dave Travise series, Freefall wonderfully picks up the narrative. It continues to build on the drama seen in book one while also adding depth and layers to the series.

Following the heartbreak and chaos Dave experiences in Myra, he strikes out in book two in an effort to go on with life. Things are tough, but he tries to pick up jobs and make a living as best he can. Though somehow, he finds himself right in the middle of big trouble that has massive implications for all involved.

Freefall definitely feels a different novel compared to Myra. Where the first book had a large swell of hope that latterly is dashed, this is altogether darker from the start. It’s a gritty ride through the galaxy. Between the drive to make a living and to uncover the secrets that have wormed their way into Dave’s life, Freefall is a rollercoaster ride with some incredible reveals. It’s well written, it’s gritty and it’s a fun read packed with plausible sci-fi that I’ve come to expect from Richard Dee.
