The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This weeks’ theme is a cover featuring something from Greek Mythology: ‘The only true wisdom is to know that you know nothing.’
This week I picked The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan.
Cover A:
Cover B:
Cover C:
Cover D:
Cover E:
Cover F:
Cover G:
And the winner is… COVER A !
In fairness, this week I really liked all of the covers this week. But I like the superimposition of the Greek figure of Apollo. The cover really catches my eye and draws me in, something I really look for on this feature.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next weeks’ theme is a book featuring the Sun: ‘…but Icarus flew too close’
You’re choice in cover art completely reflects the overwhelmingly heroic nature of Rick’s work. Complete with our unsung heroes projection of the self through that of the golden Apollo with bow directed to the heavens. One can surmise that even the lowliest of individuals may rise too meet the challenges before them. True north my wayward breadren! 🎭

I pretty much love all these covers except for Cover D! Beautiful artwork! But… if I had to choose a favourite… I’d probably go for Cover C. I love how dramatic the perspective and composition is, and the light reflecting of that blade – epic!! 😀

What is going on with cover D? Its soooo boring. My favorite is C but A is a close second!
