The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This weeks’ theme is a cover featuring a murder scene: ‘Murder most foul, as in the best it is.’
This weeks’ book is Jeff Lindsay’s Dearly Devoted Dexter.
Cover A:
Cover B:
Cover C:
Cover D:
Cover E:
Cover F:
Cover G:
Cover H:
Cover I:
And the winner is… COVER B!
The chalk outline is synonymous with a murder scene. The blood stains on the figure only intensify the dark vibe. Some of the other covers fit the TV series perfectly such as D and I, but I love B for it being removed from the show.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next weeks’ theme is a book cover that is predominantly red: ‘Lips as red as the rose.’
Cover B was my favourite as well.
