The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.

This week’s theme is “unlucky for some” – a book cover that features the word “curse” for Friday 13th. For this theme I have gone back to childhood favourite R.L. Stine and The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb.

And the winner is… COVER B!

A bit of a rare pick for me, given that I almost always go with the book cover that I owned. That would be cover C. But there was something cheesy and very 1940s/50s in cover B. It sparked a sense of wonder and adventure from its style.
