The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This week’s Friday Face-Off theme is a cover featuring a hole or black hole: “The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a Black Hole that knows how to read.” This week’s book is Holes by Louis Sachar.
Cover A Cover B Cover C Cover D Cover E Cover F Cover G Cover H Cover I
And the winner is… COVER G!
It’s been a good few years since I saw the film, but always remember enjoying it. As far as the book covers go, I loved the simplicity of this one. Simple art style, simple colours and simple design. All things that come together to create an appealing cover.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme is a cover featuring a fish: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Don’t teach a man to fish and you feed yourself. He’s a grown man, fishing’s not that hard.”
Cover G for me too, almost looks 3D (and almost a different planet, not a bad thing right now!)

Has to be B for me as that’s the cover from when I’ve taught the book!
