This week’s Friday Face-Off theme is a cover that is 1920s noir style: “It’s a noir world. Unfair things happen.” The book I’ve picked for this week is Double Indemnity by James M. Cain.
And the winner is… COVER I!
I was immediately taken with this one. There is the small shaft of light cutting through the gloom. The clandestine actions of the two figures who are dressed in a sterotypical spy fashion. It’s the cover that I’d be most drawn to I think.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme is a cover featuring a king or emperor: “Because a man plays a king superbly well does not mean that he would make a good king.”
