The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This week’s theme is a cover that is brooding, grey or cloudy: “I don’t know that I brood. I just occasionally take time out to silently consider the specific ways in which others have wronged me.” I have picked The Children of Hurin by J.R.R. Tolkien for this theme.

And the winner is… COVER F!
There is an ominous, ethereal feel to this one. It’s atmospheric and foreboding all at once. Very intriguing
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme is a cover featuring or depicting a kiss: “Make me immortal with a kiss.”
Cover A – it comes across as both moody (and pensive) and very definitely both grey and cloudy. For me it ticks all the boxes.
