Friday Face-Off – 10th June 2022

The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.

This week’s theme is a book whose cover featuring a tree: “Of all the trees we could’ve hit, we had to get one that hits back.” This week I have gone with Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.

And the winner is… COVER F!

The two-tone style on a black background is really eyecatching. The white and the blue contrast nicely with one another and the background. The imagery is appealing too, with the profile silhouette, the vast house and of course, the tree.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!

Next week’s theme is a cover featuring a tower: “Stalked by wolves, eaten by witches, and trapped in a tower for over a decade. No one’s life is a fairytale, or at least I would hope not!”

  1. Cover B – one of my favourite books, the gates leading to the avenue of trees, the red flames and Manderlay!
