Friday Face-Off is an idea originally thought up by Books By Proxy which I stole from the fantastic The Tattooed Book Geek. The idea originally was to compare UK and US covers based on an assigned theme each week and choose the winning cover. I will be twisting it slightly: not specifically US and UK covers, just different editions.
This week’s theme is a cover featuring a tree or trees: “This solitary tree! A living thing.”
With Halloween just a month away, as soon as I saw this book title, I had to go for it. So without further ado, this week’s Friday Face-Off comes courtesy of Ray Bradbury’s The Halloween Tree.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme: 7th October – “Consumed by the darkness within, it hides all our sins” – a cover that is predominantly black.
I’ve got to go with Cover D this week, I just like red and black together and the tree skull looks cool to me. Though Cover A was a close second. 😀

Yes agree with A, matches the absolute quirkiness of Ray Bradbury!

I waffled between A and D, but tilted toward D more as it had more tree 😉

I think I actually really like how the last one looks! The movement and contrast just draws me to it, but D is a close runner up for me!
