The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This weeks’ theme is a cover featuring a gravestone: ‘Let’s talk of graves, of worms, and epitaphs.’
This week I have returned to one of my favourite authors and a book I really enjoyed: Pet Sematary by Stephen King.
Cover A:
Cover B:
Cover C:
Cover D:
Cover E:
Cover F:
Cover G:
And the winner is… COVER A!
Personally, there was no other choice for me. This is the cover I owned many, many years ago. It is effective and really sold the book to me on the shelf when I bought it.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next weeks’ theme is a book cover featuring footsteps: ‘Trip trap, trip trap, trip trap.’
I don’t have the personal knowledge of the book or story that you do so I thought cover D was the most striking purely on simplicity of design…and I like that pink font!

I don’t do horror, so I have never read this, but I like cover E because the cat is cute and it looks like my cat! (which is probably not what you want in a horror cover 😂 )
