The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This week’s theme is a steampunk cover: “A clockwork heart can’t replace the real thing.” The book for this theme is Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne.

And the winner is… COVER D!
The vintage art style is the first thing that caught my eye. The sense of wonder and exploration within the image adds to the excitement of the adventure. It certainly draws my eye and makes me want to read it.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme is a cover featuring a typewriter: “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”
Cover A – immediately it says steam punk of the Jules Verne variety, typical of its era.
