Friday Face-Off – 11th March 2022

The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.

This week’s theme is a cover featuring a typewriter: “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.” This week’s book is The A.B.C. Murders by Agatha Christie.

And the winner is… COVER G!

This one is a nice, simple cover. The train ticket stubs, the sepia tone photograph and the iconic cane. Simple-yes, but it absolutely screams Poirot for me. It speaks to the style of Agatha Christie. I was a close second with a very interesting art style.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!

Next week’s theme is a vibrant, colourful cover: “My world was the size of a crayon box, and it took every colour to draw her.”
