The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This week’s theme is a book cover featuring a flower: “Know that someday I will travel to the Dark Tower at the End-World, set off in its field of roses… That I will walk to the Red Fields of None and there I will call out the names of all my fallen comrades.” This week’s book is Megan Abbott’s Give Me Your Hand.

And the winner is… COVER A!
I don’t know anything about this book, I’d not heard of it before I found it for this week’s theme. But the imagery caught my eye immediately. The single flower head burning against a stark black background. A hands-down winner for me this week.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme is a book with a cover depicting the ocean: “What would an ocean be without a monster lurking in the dark? It would be like sleep without dreams.”
Cover G – the single blood red flower held in the hand simple but effective
