The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This week’s theme is a cover from a book featuring a quest, journey or adventure: “The journey is the treasure.” The book for this week’s theme is The Stand by Stephen King.

And the winner is… IT’S A DRAW!
Cover I is the cover I had. The city, the destination of the protagonists, in the distance, the lightning flash pointing to the troubles they’ll encounter along the way. It’s also the cover I had so that always helps. Cover G is the other one here. Similarly to cover I, it features the desolate road scything through the relentless, barren desert. But instead of the ill-omen of the raven, it’s that lone figure walking off along the unending road into the distance.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme is a cover that is mostly brown: “All the leaves are brown.”
Mist definitely cover I but I think that is because of knowing the story (I can hear the sound of the raven now) and like you the lightening flash over sin city showing trouble ahead.
