The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This week’s theme is a cover that is mostly brown: “All the leaves are brown.” The book for this week’s theme is Circe by Madeline Miller.

And the winner is… COVER A!
I love the brown tones in a lot of these covers, reminding me of one of my favourite seasons – Autumn. But it was Cover A that stole it for me. The brown really stands out on the black background. And I love the simplicity, and the figure screams the artwork of ancient Greece, a period in history that has always fascinated me.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme is a cover that depicts armour or protection: “ARMOR, n. The kind of clothing worn by a man whose tailor is a blacksmith.”
Cover A – for the same reasons as you have given
