The Friday Face-Off is a meme initially created by Books by Proxy and is now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a specific theme.
This week’s theme is a cover that depicts good and evil: “People couldn’t become truly holy, he said, unless they also had the opportunity to be definitively wicked.” This week’s book is Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzche.

And the winner is… COVER G!
This book actually surprised me in terms of the variety of covers on offer for it. There are a couple that used a classic piece of art and they work really well. They seem to speak to elements of the human condition. Cover A just really intrigued me. But it was Cover G that won it this week. The design is exceptionally simplistic, and the split square in black and white scream of the good and evil in the title.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme is a cover that depicts horror: “Even if she be not harmed, her heart may fail her in so much and so many horrors; and hereafter she may suffer–both in waking, from her nerves, and in sleep, from her dreams.”
I agree with your winner Cover G – The opposites of black and white and the 2 red hearts make it a stand out cover.
