The Friday Face-Off is a meme originally created by Books by Proxy and now hosted over at Lynn’s Books. The idea is to compare the different covers of a book with each week being a certain theme.
This week’s theme is a book cover that is mostly orange: “I feel a little dizzy,” said Orion. “But also wonderfully elated. I feel that I am on the verge of finding a rhyme for the word orange.” This week’s book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck.

And the winner is… COVER C!
It speaks of isolation in the wide, open plains of America. It speaks of a harsh life carved out in the bleak, unforgiving land. It really gives off a bleak feeling that I imagine the book offers.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with my winner, or does one of the others work better for you? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s theme is a cover that depicts something gigantic – a building, a giant, a monster, a beast, anything: “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.”
Cover B – the lone figure walking (reading book?) against the orange background of sunset {or oncoming dust storm lol) pulls you in
